Job summary

Alaska VA Healthcare System in Juneau, AK, is seeking a registered nurse to join the Patient Aligned Care Team in the outpatient VA clinic. This role includes direct patient care, care coordination, and health coaching within a collaborative primary care setting.

Eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), the position supports professional development and ongoing quality improvement. English proficiency and an active US RN license are required.

Qualifications

• Current, full, and active RN license in the United States.
• Graduate of an approved nursing program (ACEN/CCNE accreditation preferred).
• English proficiency in written and spoken English.
• State licensure or bridge program eligibility as per VA Handbook 5005.
• Foreign nursing education requires equivalency validation.

Responsibilities

• Provide competent, evidence-based care to primary care patients and oversee licensed vocational nurses and nursing assistants as appropriate.
• Coordinate care and manage patient panels within the Primary Care Department.
• Promote health and coach patients on wellness, disease prevention, and chronic care management.
• Contribute to nursing education, orientation, competencies and quality improvement initiatives.
