Under the direction of the primary care operations team, the Primary Care Nurse works directly with Mercy Primary Care Providers to provide safe, timely, effective, efficient, equitable, patient-centered care. The nurse partners with patients, providers, and the clinical care team to drive quality outcomes for an attributed panel, performing duties consistently with Mercy mission, values, and service standards.

Position Details

Location: Mercy Internal Medicine Gravois – 12200 Weber Hill Rd, Saint Louis, MO 63127.

Work schedule: Monday to Friday, 0800‑1630.

Two days per week at Gravois or three days per week at various locations in the South County area.

No nights, weekends, or holidays.

• Must complete three months of on‑site training before transitioning to a hybrid work‑from‑home schedule.
• Must be available on‑site for monthly clinic meetings.

The Primary Care Nurse is a newly created role, working closely with providers and managing triage calls and messages for the clinic. The nurse has the option to work hybrid after training.

LPN Qualifications

• Education: Diploma in Practical Nursing.
• Licensure: Active LPN license.
• Experience: 2‑3 years preferred.

RN Qualifications

• Education: Associate of Applied Science in Registered Nursing, graduation from an RN program, bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN), or 4 years of commensurate experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree.
• Licensure: Active RN license.
• Experience: 2‑3 years preferred.

Highly Preferred Skills

• Proficiency with Epic EMR system.
• Timely and thorough patient triage skills.
• Computer competency.
• Excellent time management and prioritization.
