University of Alabama at Birmingham seeks a licensed RN for outpatient care at CGM Cooper Green. You will take vitals, perform EKGs, document in EHR, administer medications, and educate patients per protocols.

Responsibilities include chart reviews, care coordination, and medication reviews with the care team. The role requires strong communication, confidentiality, and flexibility across departments during day shifts.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Registered Nursing Program.
• Current RN license or license by endorsement by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Current CPR/BLS certification from AHA or Red Cross.
• Two years of clinical nursing experience required; one year in same clinic specialty preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assists in providing accurate, prompt direct and indirect nursing care; stocks and maintains exam rooms and sets up rooms per provider orders.
• Accurately takes and records patient vitals and may perform EKGs, urine dipsticks, pregnancy tests or other point-of-care tasks.
• Interview patients to obtain health history data, document complaints and update EHR information.
• Administer medications as ordered; monitor patient response and report issues to the provider.
• Educate patients and families following protocols; ensure confidentiality and clear communication.
• Conduct chart reviews and assist with pre-visit planning; monitor patient outcomes between visits.
• Participate in medication reviews with the team and act as a peer mentor when assigned.
• Operate clinical equipment safely and perform procedures in line with policies and orders.
• Handle patient inquiries promptly via the EHR inbox and escalate as needed.
• Provide coverage across departments to maintain staffing and care continuity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
