Job description

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program approval, award amount (up to $200,000), and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.

Qualifications

To qualify, you must meet the basic requirements and any additional listed in the job announcement. Pending training or license completion applicants may be tentatively selected but not hired until all requirements are met. Current VA-employed physicians who met initial appointment standards are deemed qualified.

Basic Requirements:
  • U.S. Citizenship (non-citizens only if recruitment of qualified citizens is not possible)
  • Degree of MD or equivalent from an approved school
  • Current, full, unrestricted license in the US
  • Residency training approved by VA, ACGME, AOA, or equivalent
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English
Additional Requirements:

Preferred: Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
