Job summary

Central Virginia Health Services is seeking a physician to provide primary medical care, including examination, diagnosis and treatment for our patient population. The role involves medical supervision of staff, participation in disease prevention, and after-hours coverage as needed.

The physician will treat patients, review records, order tests, prescribe medications, and ensure accurate EHR documentation. A Virginia medical license and completion of a primary care residency are required.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an AMA-certified medical school or DO from an AO A-approved school
• Residency completed in a primary care discipline (family practice, internal medicine, pediatrics)
• Licensed as a physician in the State of Virginia

Responsibilities

• Provide medical examination, diagnosis and treatment for CVHS patients.
• Prescribe and dispense medications; provide patient counseling.
• Lead clinical staff and provide supervision; participate in peer review of medical documentation.
• Participate in preventive health programs and community health activities.
• Document in the electronic health record (EHR) and handle coding/billing tasks.
• Provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage on rotation.
