Job summary

Island Doctors in Florida is seeking a licensed Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) to provide primary medical care, coordinate patient care, and ensure adherence to state and federal regulations and standards of care.

The physician will work with the primary healthcare team to order tests, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and discuss treatment options and lifestyle changes with patients.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of medicine.
• Current Medical Doctor (MD) or Osteopathic Doctor (DO) Licensure.
• Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• At least one year of experience in a similar position is desired.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary medical care within standard of care.
• Order labs and radiology tests; refer to specialists when needed.
• Diagnose conditions and propose treatments.
• Prescribe medications and treatment regimens.
• Discuss side effects and update allergy information before prescribing.
• Advise patients on lifestyle and diet changes.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with health privacy laws.
• Record complete, timely, legible medical records.
• Assist with training and compliance actions.
• Performs other duties as needed.
