Job summary

VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System seeks a full-time physician to provide primary care services to Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. This role participates in the EDRP program and supports a Whole Health System of care, aiming to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care across the care team.

The position emphasizes teamwork, comprehensive documentation, and engagement in performance improvement and education loan repayment opportunities under VA policies.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required.
• MD/DO must be from an approved school.
• Current full and unrestricted US medical license.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care to Veterans within the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System.
• Coordinate care with the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT).
• Manage scheduled and unscheduled outpatient visits.
• Participate in daily team huddles and systems redesign projects.
• Supervise or collaborate with APRN/PA as needed.
• Maintain timely documentation of notes and encounter forms.
