Job summary

VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System seeks a full-time physician to provide primary care services to Veterans who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. You will be part of the PACT, coordinating care with nurses, pharmacists, social workers, and other staff to create a comprehensive care plan.

EDRP eligibility applies; EDRP details are determined after review. Competitive salary, annual bonus, generous time off, and federal benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• MD degree from a school approved by the VA for the year of graduation.
• Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the United States.
• Residency training approved by VA for core specialty leading to board eligibility.
• Preferred: board certified with Family Medicine/Internal Medicine/Women’s Health experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary care to Veterans at the VA Nebraska-Western Iowa Health Care System.
• Be an integral member of the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT).
• Coordinate care with nursing, pharmacy, social work, and others.
• Attend primary care staff, departmental, and medical staff meetings.
• Ensure timely documentation and participate in peer reviews as required.
• Manage a patient panel per PCMM guidelines and supervise licensed practitioners.
