Astrana Health, Inc. is seeking a skilled Primary Care Physician to join our outpatient clinics in Whittier and Alhambra, CA. You will deliver high-quality, patient-centered care focused on preventive medicine and chronic disease management.

We value bilingual providers (Spanish/Chinese) and want you to help advance value-based care across San Gabriel Valley locations. This full-time role includes competitive compensation and collaborative care teams.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with CA medical license.
• Spanish or Chinese language ability.
• Completion of Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine.
• Active, unrestricted California Medical License.
• Active DEA registration.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• At least 1 year of outpatient primary care experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive primary care services including exams, evaluations, diagnoses, counseling and treatment.
• Conduct preventive care visits, wellness exams, and age-appropriate screenings.
• Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, and heart disease.
• Prescribe medications per guidelines and develop individualized care plans.
• Maintain a continuity panel with follow-up and long-term care planning.
• Review and maintain accurate patient records in the EHR and coordinate tests.
• Collaborate with specialists, behavioral health, and ancillary services.

Description

Astrana Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Primary Care Physician to join our growing outpatient clinic in Alhambra, CA and Whittier, CA. This role is ideal for a physician passionate about delivering high-quality, patient-centered care with a strong focus on preventive medicine, chronic disease management, and value-based care.

AstranaCareis a multi-specialty medical that provides comprehensive primary medical care to our patients out of multiple clinic locations in the San Gabriel Valley, Orange County, and Inland Empire. We are actively hiring for our Whittier/Alhambra locations.

Chinese or Spanish-speaking physicians and those with geriatric experience are strongly preferred!

What You'll Do

• Provide and manage comprehensive primary care services, including:
• Physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, counseling, and treatment
• Preventive care visits, wellness exams, and age-appropriate screenings
• Manage chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, COPD, heart disease, and other common adult medical conditions
• Prescribe medications and treatment regimens in accordance with clinical guidelines and best practices
• Develop individualized, evidence-based care plans in collaboration with patients and families
• Maintain a continuity panel of patients with appropriate follow-up and long-term care planning
• Collect, review, and maintain complete and accurate patient medical records in the EHR
• Order, interpret, and follow up on diagnostic tests, labs, and imaging
• Coordinate care with specialists, behavioral health providers, and ancillary services
• Direct and collaborate with nursing and support staff to ensure efficient patient flow and high-quality care
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives, including HCC, 5-Star, and other incentive-based programs
• Advocate for patients within the healthcare system to support cost-effective, coordinated care
• Recommend workflow and operational improvements to enhance clinical efficiency, documentation, and patient experience
• Uphold the highest standards of medical ethics, professionalism, and patient confidentiality
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Able to provide care in Spanish or Chinese
• Completion of an accredited Family Medicine or Internal Medicine residency program
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
• Active, unrestricted California Medical License

• At least 1 year of outpatient primary care experience (New graduates will be considered)

• Chinese or Spanish-speaking ability (medical Spanish/Chinese strongly preferred)
• Geriatric care experience
• Experience in value-based care, community health, or managed care environments
• Strong communication, teamwork, and clinical judgment skills
• Passion for serving diverse and underserved populations

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions

• This is a full-time position. Your schedule would be comprised of 5 8-hour shifts between M-F. Consideration can be made for part-time employment.
• Our national target pay range for this role is $280K - $300K per year. Sign-on and retention bonus may be part of the compensation package. Actual compensation will be determined based on geographic location (current or future), experience, and other job-related factors.

  • $3,000 per physician hired
  • $3,500 per bilingual physician hired (Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin)
