Job summary

Bread for the City in Washington, DC is seeking a Primary Care Physician to provide full scope primary care services within our community clinic. This is a full-time professional role based in our Northwest Center in Washington, DC.

The position requires a DC medical license, board eligibility or board certification in family medicine, and CPR. You will work with volunteers and staff to diagnose, treat, coordinate care and promote preventive health in an equity-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Current DC medical license.
  • Board eligible or board certified in family medicine.
  • Current CPR certificate (CPR).
  • Ability to work with volunteers in a professional and collaborative manner.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace tools or ability to learn new technology.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain health history and perform physical examinations.
  • Diagnose, treat, refer when indicated and provide preventive care.
  • Review incoming reports (lab, x-ray, EKG) and follow-up in a timely manner.
  • Comply with Infection Control plan including universal precautions.
  • Ensure compliance by support staff.
  • Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical meetings.
  • Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested.
  • Provide support to other clinical staff as part of a team approach.
  • Supervise students in training as assigned by the Medical Director.

Salary Range: $125,000.00 To $150,000.00 Annually

We provide food, clothing, medical care, and legal and social services to reduce the burden of poverty. We seek justice through community organizing and public advocacy. Position Profile:

Provide the full scope of primary care services which fall under his/her field of training, including but not limited to diagnosis, treatment, coordination of care, preventive care and health maintenance to patients. In addition, a Primary Care Physician is a member of the Bread for the City team. In that capacity they are expected to be familiar with the philosophy, goals and objectives of Bread and work collaboratively to achieve them.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • ● Current DC medical license;
  • ● Board eligible or board certified in family medicine;
  • ● Current cardiopulmonary resuscitation certificate (CPR).
  • ● Ability to work with volunteers in a professional and collaborative manner;
  • ● Familiarity with Google Organization & Productivity Tools (Gmail, Google Docs, Calendar) and/or ability to learn new technology systems;
