Coastal Health is searching for a motivated Primary Care Physician to join our growing team.

The physician provides and manages direct healthcare for our patient population.
Responsibilities:
- Provides and manages direct patient care, including physical examinations, evaluations, assessments, diagnoses, and treatment for a specified patient population.
- Prescribes pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.
- Refers patients to specialists and relevant care components as needed.
- May manage daily operations of specific medical programs, patient care units, or research functions.
- Coordinates patient care activities of nursing and support staff as required.
- Follows departmental policies, procedures, objectives, quality improvement initiatives, and safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Participates in health promotion, education, and prevention programs as appropriate.
- Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Medical doctor with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, including residency in a related medical specialty.
- Federal DEA Certification; Medical Specialty License or Certification; Board certification or eligibility in a specified medical specialty.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- Ability to observe, assess, and document symptoms, reactions, and progress.
- Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for medical care.
- Knowledge of relevant drugs, non-pharmaceutical patient care aids, and ability to prescribe dosages and instruct patients.
- Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection control standards.
- Knowledge of community medical diagnostic and patient care services in the area of expertise.
- Understanding of accreditation and certification requirements.
- Knowledge of current principles, methods, and procedures for medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to supervise, advise, and train clinical professionals and students.
- Ability to develop and deliver educational programs and workshops.
