Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is seeking a Primary Care Physician Part Time to join our Minnie Jones Health Center. The role supports integrated team-based, trauma-informed care for underserved populations.

Work 10 to 29 hours weekly with flexible Monday–Friday schedules from 7 am to 6 pm. The physician will collaborate with the care team, supervise APN/PA, and provide clinical leadership.

Qualifications

• Must have MD/DO with residency completed.
• Current NC MD or DO licensure; DEA and BLS required.
• Board certification preferred; AAHIVM preferred.
• Medicaid/Medicare eligibility required.
• Admitting privileges to local hospital required.
• FQHC or medical office experience preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
• Flexibility to work with diverse patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional medical services in a team-based primary care setting.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care team; supervise APN/PA and medical staff indirectly.
• Deliver trauma-informed, evidence-based care in a primary health setting.

Western North Carolina Community Health Services (WNCCHS) is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). WNCCHS delivers patient care with a highly integrated team of family medicine practitioners, dentists, and behavioral health clinicians with on-site pharmacy services in a community health center setting.

We are looking for Primary Care Physician Part Time to provide professional medical services to complement the delivery of integrated team-based, whole-person, trauma-informed primary health care services. They would be at our Minnie Jones Health Center for 10 to 29 hours weekly. We offer flexible schedules Monday through Friday from 7 am to 6 pm.

The Physician effectively collaborates with, and delegates to members of the interdisciplinary health care team and provides clinical leadership and supervision to advanced practice nurses (APN) & physician assistants (PA), and indirect supervision of medical support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Training:

• Graduation from an accredited school of medicine with a degree of Doctor of Medicine or Osteopathy is required. Completion of residency from an accredited program

Certifications/Licensure:

• Current unrestricted North Carolina MD or DO licensure, DEA and BLS are required
• Must be Medicaid and Medicare eligible
• Board Certification is preferred
• AAHIVM Certification is preferred

Experience:

• Must have or be able to obtain admitting privileges to the local hospital
• Previous medical office or FQHC experience is preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledgeable about current standards, methods, and procedures for the delivery of evidence-based care in an efficient, organized, and accurate manner
• Have collaboration and teamwork skills to work efficiently with others to provide new ideas and help inspire staff and management
• Flexibility to work with a variety of people differing in ages, personalities, and backgrounds.
• Demonstrates leadership, teaching, and evaluation skills

Additional skills preferred

• Bilingual in English and Spanish and/or Russian
• Experience in public health
