Job summary

DiscoverU Health is seeking a Primary Care Physician to deliver comprehensive care for adults in the DMV area. The role combines in-person, virtual, and home-based visits with an emphasis on prevention and wellness.

You will tailor care plans with the team to support long-term health goals and quality of life. The position begins as per diem with potential growth to part-time or full-time as membership expands, requiring an MD/DO license in DC/MD/VA and board certification in Internal or Family

Qualifications

• Active MD or DO license in DC, MD, or VA.
• Board certification in Internal or Family Medicine.
• Credentialing with major insurance providers preferred.
• Minimum 2 years direct adult primary care experience preferred.
• Professional liability coverage or willingness to obtain it.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, virtual, or in-home primary care visits.
• Perform routine exams, screenings, and wellness assessments for adults.
• Develop and manage individualized care plans with the care team.
• Educate on preventive health strategies and chronic disease management.
• Coordinate referrals with specialists as needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of member experience.

Job Type: Contract-based, Per Diem.

Pay Rate: $120- $140/hr.

Our mission is to make healthcare more personal, proactive, and accessible — focusing on prevention, early intervention, and compassionate care that truly meets people where they are.

As we prepare to launch this fall, we’re looking for Physicians who want to be part of something new, meaningful, and member-centered. This is a per diem role to start, with the potential to grow into part-time or full-time based on practice growth and membership volume.

Role Overview:

As a Internal Medicine or Family Practice Physician with DiscoverU Health, you’ll deliver comprehensive care for adults — focused on prevention, wellness, and chronic disease management — through a mix of in-person, virtual, and home-based visits. You’ll help shape personalized care plans that support each member’s long‑term health goals and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide in-person, virtual, or in‑home primary care visits (depending on membership plan and provider availability).


• Conduct routine physical exams, screenings, and wellness assessments for adult members.


• Develop and manage individualized care plans in collaboration with our care team.


• Educate members on preventive health strategies and chronic disease management.


• Coordinate referrals and collaborate with specialists when needed.


• Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date patient records and documentation.


• Provide education to patients regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.


• Participate in regular team check‑ins and contribute to continuous improvement of the member experience.


• Contribute to improving processes, leading community advocacy, supporting the standards and goals of practice.


• Must have a growth mindset and willingness to leverage their knowledge, skills, and abilities to support the growth of the group.

Requirements

• Active MD or DO license in D.C., Maryland, or Virginia.


• Board certified in Internal or Family Medicine.


• Current credentialing with major insurance providers strongly preferred.


• Minimum of 2 years of direct adult primary care experience preferred.


• Must have professional liability coverage or willingness to obtain it as part of onboarding.


• Excellent bedside manner with a genuine desire to serve, heal, and personalize care.


• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a small, agile team.
