Job summary

WakeMed Health & Hospitals is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to work under the Medical Director and APP Manager to deliver competent medical care across inpatient and outpatient settings. The role includes referrals, rounds, notes, discharge summaries, procedures, and prescribing.

Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and education of PA/NP/CNM students are part of the position. Licensure per NC boards and DEA is required; Basic Life Support is mandatory within 6 months

Qualifications

• Licensed Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner per NC Medical Board or NC Board of Nursing and DEA required.
• Basic Life Support required within 6 months of hire.
• Bachelor's degree for PA or master's degree for PA required or Bachelor's + Master's in Nursing.
• 1 year clinical experience as PA or NP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete referrals and consults as part of patient care.
• Perform daily rounds and document notes and discharge summaries.
• Conduct procedures and clinic notes, including pre- and post-procedure care.
• Prescribe medications and provide patient care follow-ups.
