Job summary

The incumbent will deliver medical services within Primary Care clinics at the Hampton VA Medical Center under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities include interviewing patients, performing physical examinations, and updating medical histories to promote and maintain patient health.

Clinical work encompasses assessment, differential diagnosis, care planning, and education across the lifespan, with team-based collaboration and potential referrals when indicated.

Qualifications

• Meets Medical Practice and Administrative Qualification Standards
• Board eligibility/certification in relevant specialty (physician, NP, psychologist)
• Licensure commensurate with area of practice

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to patients with acute or chronic conditions
• Perform health histories, physical exams, and health counseling
• Develop patient-centered plans of care reflecting therapeutic, educational, preventive, and rehabilitative needs
• Coordinate care with supervising physician and refer to specialists when indicated
