Job summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) in Florence, SC seeks a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a patient-centered Primary Care team. The role emphasizes long-term patient relationships, managing acute and chronic conditions, and preventive care within a collaborative environment.

You will work with experienced physicians, APPs, nurses, and staff to deliver high-quality care to patients of all ages, with opportunities to precept students and contribute to continuous improvement in care

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program with current licensure or eligibility for licensure in South Carolina.
• Currently licensed (or eligible) in the state of South Carolina as a Physician Assistant by the South Carolina Board of Medical Examiners or as a Nurse Practitioner with the SC Board of Nursing.
• Requires certification in BLS.
• APRN or PA must maintain licenses, certifications, CNEs/CMEs, etc. as required by applicable policies and state law.
• DHEC and DEA license.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient care evaluation and treatment based on history, physical examination, radiological and laboratory results.
• Initiates referrals to other health care providers or consults with the attending physician.
• Documents and bills for direct care provided.
• Potential to precept MUSC students enrolled as advanced practice provider students and facilitate learning of new team members.
