Qualifications

High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Completion of accredited medical assisting program or military medical training preferred.
Must be certified/registered by hire date with one of several recognized bodies.
BLS through American Heart Association required within 30 days of employment/transfer.
Knowledge of anatomy/physiology, medical terminology, ethics, and patient education.

Responsibilities

Assist with patient care management and provide administrative/clinical support.
Follow prescribed treatment plans and policies; support physicians and mid-level practitioners.
Communicate effectively in written and verbal form; maintain basic computer records.
Perform clinical duties including EKGs and blood pressure measurements.
Support care during severe weather or emergencies as needed.
