Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Accredited medical assisting program or graduation from US Armed Forces medical services training preferred.
• Must be certified/registered by day of hire with one of the listed national certs.
• BLS through American Heart Association required within 30 days of employment/transfer.
• Knowledge of anatomy & physiology, medical terminology, medical ethics, and patient education; able to perform EKGs and take accurate blood pressure.

Responsibilities

• Assist with patient care management and administrative/clinical procedures.
• Provide care and assistance to physicians, mid-level practitioners, nurses, and patients per treatment plans and policies.
• Communicate effectively in writing and verbally; maintain patient records with basic computer skills.
• May work various shifts and be subject to over 40 hours per week and callbacks; may be required on campus during weather events.
