Job summary

Mercy seeks a Certified Medical Assistant for its Primary Care team to support providers and patients in an outpatient setting. The role emphasizes accurate documentation, care coordination, and hands-on clinical duties within a patient-centered, fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates have MA training, maintain certification, and can perform rooming, assessments, and care-gap closures with attention to quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must attend MA Clinic Academy training.
• Must have completed all MA competencies.
• Must actively maintain MA certification.
• Caregivers must maintain certification or be transitioned to Medical Assistant.
• BLS (Basic Life Support)

Responsibilities

• Complete Advanced Standard Rooming with overall achievement >= 90% for the last 6 months.
• AWV questionnaire and documentation.
• Thorough Medication Reconciliation.
• Closing all open care gaps as indicated (Encounter Guide: Fall Risk, Depression, Breast Cancer Screening, Colorectal Cancer Screening, and Diabetes Eye Exam).
• Blood Pressure recheck for patients with elevated initial reading.
• Completion of Patient Experience Conversation.
• Outpatient clinical setting with frequent patient interaction.
• Requires standing, walking, lifting, and use of clinical equipment.
