Job summary

AdventHealth Riverview, Florida, is seeking a Medical Assistant for a daytime, full-time role to support clinical testing, patient intake, vital signs and documentation while maintaining compliance and patient confidentiality. The position promotes teamwork and ongoing competency assessments.

Required include a High School diploma, CPR certification and CMA/CMAC/RMA/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA or equivalent, plus 1+ year of related experience preferred. Benefits from day one and potential sign-on options.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of health care field and medical terminology.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management.
• Knowledge of and ability to utilize internal and external resources.
• Expertise in patient advocacy and navigating complex systems.
• Ability to communicate in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Experience with computers.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients and equipment for treatment and document results.
• Assist with testing, screenings, labs, and medication administration.
• Maintain confidentiality of employees' and patients' information and ensure compliant office operations.
• Support staff and patients; assist visitors and co-workers when needed.
• Educate patients regarding tests, medications, and diet; provide clear instructions.
• Monitor inventory and ensure supplies and equipment are functioning properly.
