Job summary

AdventHealth in Riverview, FL is hiring a Medical Assistant to support clinic operations and patient care. You will prepare patients and equipment, perform intake, document results, and assist with procedures while maintaining safety and confidentiality.

You will help managing inventory, coordinate with staff, and educate patients about tests, medications and diet. A CMA/CMAC/RMA or similar certification is required, along with high school diploma; one year of related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Travels as needed to fulfill staffing needs and support clinic operations.
• Maintains education requirements and demonstrates competency through annual tests.
• Prepares patients and equipment for treatment, initiates testing, documents results.
• Maintains OSHA regulatory enforcement and safety policies.
• Provides whole care to patients during visits: intake, results, labs, meds, gaps in care.
• Maintains confidentiality of employees' and patients' information.
• Assists with patient intake, screenings, vital signs, and medication reconciliation.
• Assists with minor procedures and ensures accurate documentation.
• Educates patients regarding tests, medications and diet.
• Monitors and manages inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Supports staff by assisting patients, visitors, and co-workers.
