Qualifications

• Organizational: multitask, keep a clean, stocked clinical area.
• MA training completed; MA certification preferred.
• BLS cert current or willing to obtain soon.
• Familiarity with family/internal medicine workflows helpful.
• Team-based care and adaptability to tech-enabled care.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Primary Care Medical Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Scottsdale, AZ. This role supports primary care providers by preparing exam rooms, escorting patients, recording vital signs, updating medical histories, and assisting with routine clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant helps manage patient flow, performs basic lab tasks such as specimen collection, and ensures accurate documentation in the electronic health record. Daily responsibilities also include coordinating prescription refills, supporting telehealth visit logistics, communicating test results under provider direction, and reinforcing care instructions and follow-up plans. The role contributes to a collaborative environment focused on efficient, compassionate, and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Clinical support skills including taking vital signs, performing basic clinical procedures, and assisting providers during exams.
• Patient-facing skills such as clear communication, empathetic interaction, and maintaining a welcoming, professional demeanor.
• Administrative and technical skills, including accurate EHR documentation, appointment scheduling support, and comfort with telehealth platforms.
• Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks, prioritize patient needs, and maintain a clean, well-stocked clinical environment.
• Completion of a Medical Assistant training program; certification or registration as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
• Knowledge of primary care workflows and familiarity with family medicine or internal medicine settings is beneficial.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based care model and adapt to evolving technology-enabled care processes.
