Job summary

Accounting Search is seeking a Primary Care/Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner for an inpatient behavioral health unit in Anchorage, AK. You will perform comprehensive assessments, establish initial H&Ps within 24 hours, and develop integrated treatment plans with a multidisciplinary team.

You will collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to address medical and mental health needs, while educating patients and families on conditions, medications, and lifestyle

Qualifications

• Active Alaska NP/APRN license or ability to obtain licensure.
• Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
• AANPCB Board Certification.
• Minimum 1 year of inpatient/acute care experience; behavioral health experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments and H&Ps within 24 hours of admission.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and staff to create integrated treatment plans.
• Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, medications, and lifestyle changes.
• Provide medical consults and emergency care within licensure scope until specialized care is available.

What You’ll Do:

• Setting: Inpatient behavioral hospital.
• Full-time or part-time position available.
• Conduct comprehensive medical assessments, including initial history and physicals (H&Ps) within 24 hours of admission, follow-ups, and discharge planning.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, and support staff to create integrated treatment plans addressing medical and mental health needs.
• Co-manage patients with complex medical comorbidities alongside mental health providers.
• Educate patients and families on medical conditions, medications, and lifestyle adjustments to enhance overall health.
• Provide medical consults and recommend diagnostic tests and treatments as needed.
• Deliver emergency care within your licensure scope until specialized care is available.

What We’re Looking For:

1. Licensure: Active Alaska NP/APRN license or the ability to obtain licensure.
2. Education: Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
3. Certification: AANPCB Board Certification.
4. Experience: Minimum 1 year of post-training experience in an inpatient or acute care setting preferred (behavioral health experience a plus).
