Job summary

Mercy Clinic Primary Care in Bethany is hiring for full-time Medical Assistant, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic roles. You will prepare patients, take vital signs, review history, and manage documentation in Epic for preventive visits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required with relevant healthcare exposure.
• Certification/licensure as MA, LPN, or EMT/Paramedic is accepted, with BLS within 90 days.
• Experience in primary care settings preferred (6 months).

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient for visit: enter chief complaint, take vitals, review history.
• Reconcile medications and complete documentation in Epic for visits.
• Assist with in-office testing: draw blood, EKGs, and point-of-care tests.
• Administer vaccines and injections as allowed by scope.
• Schedule follow-ups and coordinate care with the team.
• Support care-gap closures and maintain accurate charting.

Position Details

Mercy Clinic Primary Care - Bethany

Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

Overview

• Prepares patient for visit with provider by completing Advanced Standard room process including entering the chief complaint; taking patient vital signs; reviewing patient history and allergies; completing a thorough medication reconciliation; working the Encounter Guide including helping to close any open care gaps such as fall risk, depression screening, breast cancer screening, colorectal cancer screening, and diabetic eye exams; rechecking elevated blood pressures; and completing needed documentation in Epic for yearly preventative visits as needed.
• Assists with any needed in-office testing including, but not limited to, drawing blood, completing mental status exams, EKG's, walking oxygen studies and point of care testing.
• Administer vaccines and other injections within scope of practice.
• Schedules follow up appointments when needed per office policy.
• Collaborates with providers and clinical care team to monitor and coordinate delivery of the care plan.

Medical Assistant Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification: Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire .
• Preferred Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience, preferably in a primary care office.

Certified Medical Assistant Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification : Must have active Medical Assistant certification/registration (RMA, CCMA, CMA) or EMT/Paramedic is also accepted. Must obtain BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

LPN Qualifications

• Education: Graduate of an accredited Practical Nursing program.
• Licensure: Active LPN license in the state of practice.
• Experience: 6 months of clinical healthcare experience preferred, particularly in a primary care office.
