Job summary

The role involves patient education, medication management, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to ensure continuity of care. Experience with EHRs and surgical assisting may be required or advantageous.

Qualifications

• APRN with state licensure and authority to practice under physician supervision.
• Experience in assessing illnesses, ordering tests, and formulating treatment plans.
• Proficiency with electronic health records and clinical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient health history, performs exams, and documents findings.
• Orders and interprets lab tests and imaging; consults physicians as needed.
• Develops and implements treatment plans; prescribes medications per guidelines.
• Counsels patients on therapy adherence, preventive care, and health maintenance.
• Participates in peer reviews, staff education, and quality assurance activities.
• Collaborates with physicians for acute and long-term patient care; triages calls.
• Functioning as a First Assist to physicians in the operating room, if applicable.
