Job summary

Bridgewater State University is seeking a PRIDE 365 Peer Mentor, a full-time undergraduate student, to guide a cohort of LGBTQIA+ first-year students through college transitions. Mentors provide support, resources, and leadership experiences, with weekly outreach and collaborative programming.

Expect approximately 6 hours per week, focusing on fall outreach and spring expansion, with engagement across Pride Center programs and events. Background check and Work Study are required.

Qualifications

• Must be a Bridgewater State University undergraduate student registered for at least six credits for Fall 2026.
• Must have Work Study award in your financial aid package.
• Commitment to LGBTQIA+ advocacy and inclusion.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct weekly direct outreach to a cohort of first-year LGBTQIA+ and ally students during their initial fall semester transition.
• Maintain accurate contact logs documenting check-ins with each mentee.
• Provide guidance and connect students to campus resources that support academic success and personal well-being.
• Plan and facilitate social and educational workshops or programs.
• Attend weekly staff meetings and contribute to team discussions.
• Assist with Pride Center operations, greeting guests and staffing events.
