Job summary

ABB is seeking a Pricing Manager to create and complete bids, estimates, and quotations aligned with market competitiveness and margin guidelines. You will collaborate across ABB units to balance costs and customer value while supporting a strong customer experience.

The role requires a STEM degree and 5+ years of pricing/industry experience, with strong analytical and communication skills. This is a hybrid position within ABB's Electrification division in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5+ years’ experience preferred, or 10+ years in utility electrical industry.
• Ability to understand extensive product portfolio and apply pricing strategy.
• Strong knowledge of Utility and Electrical Industry; ELIP Utility products and ABB preferred.
• Strong analytical, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal communication in English.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage workload.
• Collaborative, solution-focused approach with strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Formulates competitive bids, estimates, and quotations considering product mix and technical/commercial aspects.
• Ensures tenders are well-documented with full costs and details.
• Manages planning of technical, financial, and project aspects of bid, estimate, quotation, including prices and conditions.
• Ensures inputs for bid/estimate/quotation editing are timely and aligned with quality procedures.
• Manages collection and archival of documentation and decisions made during development.

This position reports to:

Pricing Manager

In this role, you will create and complete bids, estimations, and quotations based on customer specifications and requirements to achieve market competitiveness with-in margins guidelines for the company. Maintains and improves the balance between all ABB units and customers ensuring alignment with ABB standards and targets while ensuring a positive customer experience throughout the process.

This role is contributing to the Electrification division in the United States.

You will be mainly accountable for:

• Formulates competitive bids, estimates, and quotations by considering the best available product mix and appropriate technical and commercial aspects for each situation.
• Ensures tenders are well-documented in a timely manner and with an appropriate level of detail, including full and accurate costs.
• Manages the planning and preparation of technical, financial, and, if required, project management aspects of the bid, estimate, and quotation, indicating prices and trading conditions.
• Ensures that inputs for editing activities related to bid, estimate, and quotation preparation are provided in a timely manner and in accordance with the established quality procedures.
• Manages the collection and archival of documentation regarding the order/quoting and recording of assumptions and decisions made during development.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in STEM with 5+ years’ experience strongly preferred or 10+ years’ experience supporting Utility Electrical Industry in a technical, product marketing, or an industry supporting role
• Ability to understand extensive product portfolio and how it applies/relates to the market, providing value-added pricing
• Sound knowledge of and extensive experience in Utility and Electrical Industry; specific ELIP Utility products and ABB preferred
• Strong analysis, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent written, verbal communication skills primarily in English
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage assigned workload.
• A collaborative, solution-focused approach, with strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals and objectives.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, meet strict deadlines, and maintain performance in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical capabilities with demonstrated ability to break down market data into strategic price offering. Proficiency in MS Excel
• Always maintain and present in a professional and respectful manner.
• Willingness to travel , 5-10%, more initially for training and to support activities that representing PL and MGN growth as needed
• Candidate must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the United States
