Arnold & Porter is seeking a highly analytical Financial Analyst to join our Finance team in New York. You will partner with attorneys and leadership to develop pricing strategies, evaluate alternative fee arrangements, and provide data-driven insights to support client value and firm growth.

This role emphasizes financial modeling, reporting, and communication, with opportunities to leverage AI tools to enhance analysis and presentation of findings.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in legal pricing, FP&A, or related financial-analysis role.
• Strong financial modeling, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with pivot tables, advanced formulas, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and dynamic modeling.
• Experience with business intelligence, report-writing, and data visualization tools preferred.
• Power BI experience, including interactive dashboards, DAX, data modeling, and visualization of financial data, preferred.

Aufgaben

• Partner with attorneys to develop pricing strategies and innovative fee arrangements.
• Create detailed matter budgets and financial models for hourly and alternative fee arrangements (fixed, capped, blended rates, collars, subscriptions, contingency, portfolio pricing).
• Conduct sensitivity and scenario analyses to evaluate staffing mix, leverage, realization, margin, and profitability.
• Perform profitability and contribution-margin analyses at matter, client, practice, and firm levels.
• Support pricing and budgeting components of RFPs, client fee negotiations, and business development opportunities.
• Prepare and communicate monthly financial reports, including productivity and KPIs across teams.
• Develop ad hoc analyses, reports, and presentations for senior management and internal stakeholders.
• Use BI and data visualization tools to identify trends and translate data into actionable recommendations.
• Train attorneys on pricing best practices, matter-management, and BI tools.
• Collaborate with Marketing to develop client budgets and rate structures for value.
