Job summary

PacifiCorp in Portland, OR, is seeking a results-driven Associate Pricing and COS Analyst to support cost-of-service analyses, rate design, and retail pricing proposals. You will gather and interpret data, assist with feasibility studies, revenue analyses, and trend evaluations to help shape PacifiCorp’s pricing strategy.

The role partners with senior analysts on regulatory filings and tariff changes, prepares testimony and exhibits, and helps design new pricing methods.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, business, accounting, or related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Advanced degree preferred.
• Data gathering, analysis, interpretation, trending, forecasting, and modeling.
• Knowledge of applicable Company policies and procedures; applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations.
• Proficient with the use of personal computers including spreadsheet, database, word processing, and presentation applications to gather, analyze, and model information.
• Communication and interpersonal skills including the ability to consult with internal and external customers regarding matters/issues which may be sensitive in nature.
• Ability to work with all levels of an organization including people with different styles and backgrounds and ability to work as a member of a team.
• Travel may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with analyses related to cost of service, design of retail electric prices, rate spread, special contract analysis, revenue normalization, rate analysis, and reporting.
• Gather, analyze, and interpret data for trends, forecasts, and modeling.
• Prepare and respond to requests for rates and rate comparisons.
• Assist with preparation of testimony, exhibits and tariff changes filed with state regulatory commissions and provide analytical support.
• Assist with the design and development of new pricing proposals, costing methods and data collection procedures.
