A leading company is seeking a Pricing and Proposal Specialist with strong construction estimating experience to support EV charging station projects. This fully remote role requires a proactive professional skilled in proposal development and cost estimation, offering a competitive hourly rate.
Akkodis is seeking a Pricing and Proposal Specialist with strong construction estimating experience to join our team. This role supports a growing pipeline of EV charging station (EVCS) construction projects by leading the construction components of Request for Proposal (RFP) responses, estimating costs, preparing proposal packages, and ensuring compliance with utility and government grant requirements. This position is contractual, fully remote and requires an independent, detail-oriented, and proactive professional with a solid background in construction, proposal development, and cost estimation.
Rate Range : $25/hour - $30/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead construction-related proposal deliverables in response to commercial and grant-funded RFPs.
Develop detailed construction budgets, cost estimating tools, and analyze vendor proposals and change orders for fair market pricing.
Interpret and prepare construction-related materials for grant applications and funding submissions.
Communicate grant requirements to project managers and vendors to ensure compliance during execution.
Identify and qualify construction vendors to strengthen proposal packages and application responses.
Required Qualifications:
3+ years of relevant experience in construction estimating, project budgeting, and proposal preparation.
Proven experience with construction projects, estimating software (e.g., Excel, RS Means), and preparing detailed bid packages.
Familiarity with grant application and administration related to site development and infrastructure.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent work experience.
Professional certificates such as PMP, PCSE, APMP, or similar.
Experience managing vendors and subcontractors in the EV infrastructure or AEC industry.
Proficiency with project management and proposal software.
Experience creating construction site plans or basic renderings is a plus.
Knowledge of contract law and negotiation of vendor/service agreements.
