Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Senior Manager of Pricing Analytics based at the Home Office in Richmond, VA. You will lead a team of data scientists and analysts, guiding pricing and buying decisions across the retailer’s 200+ stores.

You will partner with business leaders to define KPIs, monitor market conditions, and deliver actionable insights that drive sales growth. This is an on-site role, expected to work four days per week from the Richmond office.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in an analytical or strategic role.
• MBA or Master's in an analytical field is a plus.
• Analytic mindset with experience conducting large-scale data analysis (SQL/Python preferred).
• Ability to manage a team of data scientists and analysts.
• Ability to communicate complex topics to influence executive thinking and improve execution.

Responsibilities

• Create and promote an environment of development across the Pricing team.
• Partner with leaders to define KPIs and manage systems to deliver results.
• Ensure model aligns with current market conditions and adjust strategy as needed.
• Build a management system to ensure model delivers intended values.
• Respond to pricing system issues promptly, regardless of time.
• Lead data scientists in leveraging models to create business value.
• Influence strategic direction and gain cross-organizational buy-in.
• Present insights and recommendations to stakeholders to drive changes.
