Job summary

Wildfire Defense Systems, Inc. in Bozeman, MT seeks an Associate Actuary to design, build, and maintain advanced pricing frameworks for property, casualty, and reinsurance portfolios within WD InsurTech.

You will leverage statistical modeling and machine learning, collaborate with underwriting and claims, and mentor teammates while advancing scalable model infrastructure and governance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field.
• Master's degree strongly preferred.
• Active pursuit of FCAS; ACAS or near-ACAS preferred.
• CPCU, ARe, CERA or similar credentials are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and validate predictive pricing models for P&C and reinsurance.
• Develop end-to-end pricing pipelines from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.
• Apply credibility theory, loss development, trend analysis, and exposure rating with data science techniques.
• Develop pricing tools and models for price adequacy, rate changes, and portfolio segmentation.
• Automate pricing workflows and reporting using Python, R, or SQL.
