Job summary

Wildfire Defense Systems, Inc. is seeking an Associate Actuary to design, build, and maintain advanced pricing frameworks across property, casualty, and reinsurance portfolios.

You will leverage statistical modeling, machine learning, and predictive analytics to develop rate indications and support underwriting strategy. You will collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, and Reserving teams, drive data-informed decisions, and mentor junior staff while adopting modern tooling and scalable model

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or quantitative field required.
• Master’s degree strongly preferred.
• Active pursuit/holding FCAS ACAS status is preferred.
• Additional credentials (CPCU/ARe/CERA) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and validate predictive pricing models for P&C and reinsurance.
• Develop end-to-end pricing pipelines from data ingestion to deployment and monitoring.
• Support rate indications and regulatory filings with robust analytics.
• Create dashboards and reporting for underwriting leadership.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Claims, Reserving, and leadership on pricing governance.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science

Master's degree (M.S. or M.A.) in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, or related

FCAS or near-FCAS (ACAS preferred)

CPCU / ARe / CERA or data science certs a plus
