Job summary

Westlake Chemical is seeking a Pricing Lead to manage division pricing, resolve disputes, and maintain pricing in ERP and bolt-on systems. You will analyze pricing impact and performance against targets, coordinating with sales, finance, and customer service.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field and 3–5 years of pricing experience (5–7 years acceptable in lieu). Advanced Excel and JDE experience are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure pricing changes have proper approvals and align with policies.
• Monitor error reports and fix system entries as needed.
• Coordinate with sales, finance, and customer service on rebates and deals.
• Resolve pricing disputes with customers and communicate outcomes.
• Conduct pricing updates to customer pricing and analyze impact.
• Design analyses for pricing impact on special deals.
• Provide sales and margin reports to leadership.
• Audit gross profit margin on new and existing customers.
• Coordinate with procurement and cost updates.
• Participate in pricing, sales, finance, and ERP projects.
• Liaise with auditors for SOX compliance.
• Handle multiple assignments concurrently.

POSITION SUMMARY

Acts as the lead for division pricing. Researches and resolves customer pricing disputes. Responsible for setting up, maintaining, and programming pricing and special deals in the ERP system and bolt‑on web‑based application. Analyzes pricing impact and department performance to targets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up, maintenance, and programming list pricing and customer pricing in ERP and bolt‑on application
• Verify that request for pricing change or special deal falls within company policies and has proper approvals
• Ensure entries meet system needs, monitor error reports and fix
• Interface with sales, finance, and customer service in determining eligibility requirements for customer rebates, deals, returns and miscellaneous requests
• Help resolve and communicate to internal and external customers on disputes and deductions related to pricing
• Conduct pricing increases and updates to customer pricing
• Design and run analysis for pricing impact on special pricing deal proposals
• Provide sales and margin report to leadership team
• Audit gross profit margin on new/existing customers
• Coordinate with procurement and audit cost updates
• Participate in miscellaneous projects for Pricing, Sales, Finance, and ERP Team
• Liaise with internal and external auditors to ensure SOX compliance
• Must be capable of handling multiple assignments concurrently

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field
• 3 to 5 years of relevant experience; 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in lieu of bachelor’s degree
• Advanced Microsoft Office experience with emphasis on Excel
• Preferred proficient in use of JDE software
• Uses critical thinking and is able to communicate viewpoint effectively
• Demonstrates a strong bias towards service, quality, and customer satisfaction

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must frequently make minor decisions with limited information, general decisions in the absence of specific directions, and perform activities requiring sustained concentration.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandates usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. During active remediation additional requirements may include fit testing for respiratory equipment, chemical suits, face shields, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs. Moderate travel (20-40%) may be required in the performance of duties.
