Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Pricing Analyst to drive profitable growth through data-driven pricing decisions. You will partner with Sales, Operations, Finance, and leadership to analyze trends, evaluate opportunities, and deliver insights that influence revenue and margins.

The ideal candidate has a finance-related degree, 0–2 years of experience, strong analytical and Excel skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Review pricing requests for accuracy, impact, and policy compliance.
• Perform profitability analysis on proposed pricing changes (revenue, margin, cost, contribution).
• Approve or reject pricing requests within authority levels and escalate where needed.
• Conduct pricing trend analyses to identify opportunities and risks.
• Prepare and update standard pricing, profitability, and performance reports.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting to support pricing decisions.
• Maintain pricing data and records in applicable systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve pricing issues and implement changes.
• Assist in developing pricing models, tools, processes, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to automate recurring reports and workflows.
• Support special projects and other analytical initiatives.

Requirements

Duties and Responsibilities

A typical day may include:

• Respond to pricing change requests and pricing-related information requests from internal stakeholders, including Sales, Account Management, Operations, and Finance.
• Review pricing requests for accuracy, completeness, financial impact, and compliance with established pricing policies and approval guidelines.
• Perform profitability analysis on proposed pricing changes, evaluating revenue, margin, cost, contribution, and other relevant financial metrics.
• Approve or reject pricing requests within established authority levels and **escalate** requests requiring additional review or approval.
• Perform trend analysis on pricing, sales volume, revenue, margins, customers, products, and other relevant business metrics to identify trends, opportunities, and potential risks.
• Prepare, maintain, and update standard pricing, profitability, and performance reports, ensuring data accuracy and timely distribution.
• Conduct ad hoc analysis and reporting to support pricing decisions, management requests, customer inquiries, and business initiatives.
• Maintain accurate pricing data, documentation, and supporting records in applicable systems and databases.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to research and resolve pricing issues and support the implementation of approved pricing changes.
• Assist in the development, maintenance, and improvement of pricing models, analytical tools, processes, and procedures.
• Identify opportunities to automate and streamline recurring reports, pricing analyses, and workflows to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Support special projects and other analytical initiatives as assigned.
