Job summary

Argo Group is seeking an Actuary - Pricing to support actuarial pricing strategy for its Specialty lines. The role requires independence, problem-solving, and collaboration with multiple business partners. This is an on-site position based in the designated office within standard business hours.

The candidate will build predictive models (GLMs, ML), perform actuarial analyses, and lead portfolio optimization efforts. Strong programming (SQL, R, Python) and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Computer Science or Finance related.
• Prefer 4+ exams in ACAS or equivalent.
• 3+ years predictive modeling experience.
• Experience with GLMs and machine learning; strong programming skills (SQL, R, Python)
• Experience with training AI agents a plus
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain predictive models to support pricing strategy, risk selection, and portfolio optimization.
• Work with underwriting, claims, financial, IT, and marketing to support Specialty lines.
• Conduct actuarial and financial analyses to quantify performance.
• Provide direction to business partners to improve portfolio performance.
• Lead loss ratio planning and quarterly reforecasting.
• Explore new tools to drive efficiencies and refine workflows.
• Create and automate datasets and reports for actuarial analysis.
• Manage rate filings, where applicable.
