Job summary

The Hartford is seeking an AD & Associate Actuary in a hybrid US-based role to support the Global Specialty US Actuarial pricing team for Financial Lines. The position focuses on pricing, profitability, and reserve studies, with collaboration across Underwriting, Finance, Claims and IT to improve processes and drive business decisions.

Ideal candidates bring ACAS or near-ACAS status and 4+ years in Property & Casualty actuarial work, with strong Excel and R/SQL skills.

Qualifications

• ACAS or near-ACAS preferred; actuarial experience considered without exams.
• Minimum 4+ years of Property and Casualty actuarial experience.
• Knowledge of actuarial pricing and reserving techniques.
• Strong technical/analytical skills; proficiency in Excel; R/SQL preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform actuarial pricing, rate development and price monitoring.
• Support reserve studies and profitability analyses.
• Develop and maintain pricing tools and monitoring systems.
• Collaborate with Underwriting, Finance, Claims and IT to improve processes.
• Apply predictive modeling and SQL/R skills to enhance analyses.
• Present analyses and recommendations to business partners.
