Job summary

St. Joseph School District is seeking a Preventative Maintenance professional to retrofit lighting systems and maintain district facilities. The role requires solid electrical/mechanical knowledge, asbestos/HVAC certification, and boiler experience.

A valid driver's license and the ability to lift 50 pounds are essential. This 12-month, non-exempt position reports to the Coordinator of Maintenance & Warehousing and follows the approved Operations Salary Schedule.

Qualifications

• High school education or equivalent required.
• Basic electrical and general mechanical skills preferred.
• Asbestos, HVAC certification and boiler experience required.
• Ability to work from ladders, scaffolds and air lifts.
• Physically able to lift 50 pounds and work in varying temperatures.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Background check, physical capacity assessment and drug screen required.

Responsibilities

• Retrofitting of lighting systems as directed by the Director of Maintenance and Operations.
• Attend to work orders, specifications and drawings; order supplies as directed.
• Maintain mechanical systems/HVAC, boilers, filters, and ice machines.
• Keep tools and shop area clean and organized to minimize downtime.
• Maintain safe working conditions and protect district property.
• Collaborate with staff and district leadership as needed.
