Fort Wayne Metals Research Products LLC is seeking a 1st shift Preventive Maintenance Technician at our Ferguson Rd location in Fort Wayne, IN. The role monitors and troubleshoots equipment, performs routine maintenance, and plans machine downtimes to sustain production.

Responsibilities include evaluating wear, executing repairs, changing filters and belts, calibrating Magpower units, sustaining inventories, and maintaining ISO 9000 records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Previous experience in Preventive Maintenance or a related field is preferred.
• Proficiency in math, reading, writing and communication is required.

Overview

This position will monitor and troubleshoot equipment and machinery for signs of problems, perform maintenance routines as necessary, and plan machine downtimes. They will e valuate equipment to determine wear on components, perform necessary repairs, or schedule any repairs that cannot be completed during the evaluation. Other responsibilities include changing filters, replacing belts and pulleys, calibrating Magpower units, and other necessary repairs as determined by equipment evaluations. This position will sustain part inventories by adding needed items to the Parts Order list. They will also maintain records to satisfy ISO 9000 requirements.

Education & Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Previous experience in Preventive Maintenance or a related field preferred.
• Proficiency in math, reading, writing, and communication.

Skills Needed

• Ability to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Understanding and the ability to apply safe work practices, required.
• Basic understanding of machine operation and knowledge of lathes and mills for general repair work preferred.
• General knowledge of AC/DC.
• Basic computer skills required.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

• Must be able to access all areas of operation, including second floors.
• Standing or walking most of the shift.
• Required to lift 50 lbs.
• Bending, stooping, climbing, and working on and around all sizes and types of equipment.
• Potential exposure to drawing oils and powders, hydrogen, nitrogen, acids, and industrial alcohol.
