Job summary

Rosecrance Jackson Recovery is seeking a Prevention Specialist to design, develop, and deliver evidence-based presentations on substance use, prevention, and treatment to schools, civic and faith groups as part of funded programs.

You will coordinate lectures for students from kindergarten through twelfth grade, build partnerships with local organizations, and help create educational materials and evaluation reports while professionally representing Rosecrance at community events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in social work, psychology, community health, or related field.
• Valid Iowa driver’s license.
• Ability to coordinate and present lectures for patients, parents, and community resources.
• A passion to be part of a mission-driven organization.
• A desire to make a difference in people’s lives.

Responsibilities

• Present evidence-based curriculum to students in kindergarten through twelfth grade.
• Designs and develops presentations on substance abuse.
• Initiates and develops contact with organizations and target groups to build relationships with Rosecrance.
• Provide technical assistance and consultation on alcohol and other drug issues to schools and community groups.
• Network with youth-serving organizations and market program offerings.
• Collaborate with Prevention staff to develop new programming and materials.
• Complete required reports and evaluations.
• Represent Rosecrance at community functions and health fairs.
