Job summary

Heartland for Children in Bartow, FL is seeking an experienced management professional to oversee prevention and diversion support services for families. The role focuses on connecting families to timely resources and supporting mental health and behavioral health needs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
• 3–5 years of professional experience in related field with supervisory experience.
• Extensive experience in child welfare and/or child abuse prevention preferred.
• Strong organization, follow-up, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Establishes and maintains positive working relationships with internal/external customers.
• Manages and supervises Family Support Specialists responsible for resource identification and problem solving with families.
• Ensures timely access to resources, services and programs to optimize outcomes.
• Oversees development and delivery of resource navigation systems to divert cases from the local child welfare system.
• Coordinates and delivers community and staff prevention-related presentations.
• Focuses on helping families before harm by removing barriers and identifying appropriate services.
• Provides connections and support for mental health, substance and behavioral health needs.
• Supervises staff and conducts case consultations to ensure family preservation.
• Reviews and tracks data related to children entering the system and helps develop prevention strategies.
• Reviews risk levels and determines interventions to support families.
• Ensures staff document efforts in FSFN and keep teams updated on progress.
• Models conflict resolution and fosters open communication with staff and providers.
• Responds promptly to identify family service needs and resources.
• Attends meetings and oversees prevention/diversion case activities.
• Participates in management meetings and projects; performs special assignments.
