Job summary

Prevention Action Alliance in Ohio is seeking two Prevention Coordinators for part-time personal service contracts. Each coordinator will manage and support activities, deliverables, events, and projects for one of two grant-funded initiatives: OneOhio Recovery Foundation – Region 18; KSU SAMHSA SPF-PFS Grant – Southeast Region.

Both positions share the same duties, expectations, and terms, including collaboration with the Program Director and serving as a primary contact for prevention

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; two to four years of related experience and/or training.
• Experience with prevention science theories and practices is preferred.
• Experience planning meetings, events, and activities.
• Experience in public speaking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates planning, implementation, evaluation, and administration of deliverables for the assigned grant.
• Provides technical assistance and support to prevention providers within the assigned grant region.
• Collaborates with the Program Director to plan and evaluate conferences, meetings, and events.
• Maintains project tools, resources, records, and reports.

Summary

Prevention Action Alliance is seeking two Prevention Coordinators for part-time personal service contract positions. Each Prevention Coordinator will manage and support activities, deliverables, events, and projects associated with one of the following grant-funded initiatives:

• OneOhio Recovery Foundation – Region 18 Grant
• Kent State University (KSU) SAMHSA SPF-PFS Grant – Southeast Region

While each position supports a different grant and geographic region, the core duties, responsibilities, qualifications, and contract terms are the same. Prevention Coordinators will work closely with the Program Director and serve as points of contact for prevention providers, community partners, funders, grantees, and agency leadership within their assigned grant.

Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Coordinates the planning, implementation, evaluation, and administration of deliverables associated with the assigned grant.*
• Provides technical assistance and support to prevention providers within the assigned grant region.*
• Collaborates with the Program Director to plan, implement, and evaluate conferences, meetings, summits, and other major events related to the assigned grant.*
• Provides technical assistance and support to grant partners, consumers, grantees, and funders.*
• Creates, utilizes, manages, and maintains project tools, resources, records, and reports.*
• Participates in grant team meetings, virtually or in person.*
• Performs other duties as assigned.*

Language Ability

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers, partners, or employees of the organization.

Math Ability

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

To perform this role successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and mass email software. Prevention Action Alliance will provide a laptop and access to all necessary software applications.

Education/Experience

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; two to four years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Specialized Training/Experience Preferred

• Experience with prevention science theories and practices.
• Experience planning meetings, events, and activities.
• Experience in public speaking.

Certificates and Licenses

Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist Assistant (OCPSA) preferred but not required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Other Abilities

• High degree of professionalism.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to simultaneously manage multiple tasks.
• Ability to travel within the state and assigned grant region.

While performing the duties of this role, the contractor is regularly required to sit, use their hands, and talk or hear. The contractor must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.

Working Conditions

These positions are hybrid, with travel throughout the respective grant catchment areas expected.

Contract Terms

• Both positions are part-time personal service contracts for the period of October 1, 2026 through September 30, 2027. The contracts may be awarded separately or to a single individual qualified to fulfill the responsibilities of both positions.

For One Contract:

• Estimated Time Commitment: Approximately 75–80 hours per month

For Both Contracts:

• Combined Contract Compensation: $60,000 total, paid monthly
• Estimated Time Commitment: Approximately 150–160 hours per month
