CompDrug is seeking a Youth Prevention Coordinator to lead youth-led prevention initiatives and strengthen partnerships with schools and community organizations. You will manage programs, coordinate events, and support grant objectives while empowering youth leadership.

The role requires budgeting, reporting, and data-driven evaluation, with a focus on prevention of substance misuse and mental health awareness. On-site work at 118 E Main, Columbus, OH.

Qualifications

  • Youth-led prevention experience or experience as a consumer of youth-led prevention services.
  • Two years’ experience working with middle or high school aged youth.
  • Experience in budgeting, reporting, documentation, and direct service.
  • Ability to analyze project outcomes and make data-informed recommendations.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Willing to obtain Ohio Prevention Specialist certification within 2 years.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the organization at community meetings, events and conferences.

  • Develop timelines, implementation plans, and evaluation measures.

Youth Prevention Coordinator

CompDrug’s Youth Prevention team has an immediate opening for a Youth Prevention Coordinator. This successful candidate will combine their experience in youth led prevention programming with strong administrative and organizational skills to create opportunities that empower youth, strengthen community partnerships, and advance our prevention mission.

In this role, you will help build systems that allow young people to lead, communities to collaborate, and prevention efforts to grow sustainably. You’ll develop and manage projects that expand community engagement, strengthen youth leadership, support grant objectives, and increase awareness of substance misuse and mental health prevention.

Working collaboratively with youth prevention staff, schools, community partners, and youth leaders, the coordinator ensures projects are completed on time, within budget, and aligned with evidence-based prevention strategies and organizational goals.

Work Arrangements

Full Time, 40 Hours per week.

Work schedule to include Wednesday evenings and occasional Friday evenings and weekends/overnights.

Work Location: 118 E Main.

Non-Essential Staff.

Reports to: Director of Prevention.

Essential Functions
Administrative
  • Represent the organization at community meetings, events, and conferences.
  • Assist with implementation of grant-funded projects.
  • Collect, organize, and report project data and outcomes.
  • Maintain project documentation and required records and assist with preparation of reports for funders and organizational leadership.
  • Track project budgets and expenditures as assigned.
  • Collaborates with Director of Prevention to ensure programming meets standards and best practices for primary prevention.
  • Supports team members in problem solving and conflict resolution
  • Assist with the development of promotional materials including newsletters, social media content, and community messaging.
Programming
  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee special prevention initiatives and projects.
  • Develop project timelines, implementation plans, and evaluation measures.
  • Monitor project progress and ensure deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Coordinate logistics for community events, campaigns, and prevention activities.
  • Support meaningful youth engagement in project planning and implementation.
  • Coach youth leaders to facilitate meetings, events, presentations, and service projects.
  • Promote authentic youth voice in decision-making and program development.
  • May assume responsibilities for coordination and execution of programming and events.
  • Build and maintain relationships with schools, community organizations, coalitions, and local partners.
  • Mandated reporter – ensures thatappropriate documentationissubmitted.
  • Identifies program adjustments and supports Director of Prevention in implementing adjustments and changes.
  • Ensurecompliance with company policies and procedures.
Additional Functions
  • Performs other related projects, speaking engagements, training tasks, anddutiesassigned by supervisor.
  • Maintains regular andtimelyattendance.
  • Participates in periodic and annual compliance processes
Qualifications
  • Youth Led Prevention experience – providing youth led prevention services or experience as a consumer of youth led prevention services.
  • One or twoyears' experienceworking with middle or high school aged youth. Experience with youth-led preventionis required.
  • Demonstratable experience working within a program, project or departmental budget: experience tracking and monitoring expenses, understanding of expense allocation.
  • At least two years of professional experience in program delivery, including budgeting, reporting, documentation, and direct service.
  • Ability to analyze project outcomes and make data-informed recommendations. Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Ability and willingness to develop and apply knowledge of company policies, safety practices and procedures.
  • Strong customer service skills, including the ability to build rapport with youth, staff and representatives of partner programs and funders
  • Ohio Prevention Specialist certification, or ability and willingness to obtain Registered Applicant status with Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board within90 days, must obtain Ohio Certified Prevention Specialist within 2 years.
  • Organizational leadership, problemsolving,and public speaking skillsare required.
  • Self-motivatedand creative.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, including the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license, auto insurance and ability to meet company driving policy.
