TITLE: Prevention CoordinatorHOURS: 40 hours per week, some evenings, weekends (as needed)SUPERVISED BY: TISUPP Program ManagerDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESThe Prevention Coordinator is responsible for implementing community-based, school-based, and family-focused prevention, education, and outreach activities for Project SPARK programs. The Prevention Coordinator will provide direct services to youth, parents, caregivers, schools, and community members; implement evidence-based prevention curricula in school and afterschool settings; recruit and engage caregivers and youth; deliver parent education sessions; support Youth Prevention Councils; coordinate with schools and community coalitions; and assist with program data collection, documentation, and reporting.Provide direct prevention services to youth, parents, caregivers, families, schools, and community members.Deliver evidence-based youth prevention curricula, including Project ALERT, Mind Matters 2.0, SmokeSCREEN, and other approved curricula, in school and afterschool settings.Conduct school-based prevention education, community outreach, and prevention activities throughout rural Arizona.Implement evidence-based prevention programming for youth, caregivers, families, schools, and other identified target populations with fidelity to approved curricula and program requirements.Recruit and support members of Youth Prevention Councils (YPCs) through school presentations, counselor referrals, teacher recommendations, student applications, outreach events, and other appropriate recruitment strategies.Support the development and implementation of Youth Prevention Council activities, including youth leadership, positive social norms campaigns, and youth-led prevention messaging.Conduct prevention education, community outreach, and prevention activities in schools, afterschool programs, and communities throughout rural Arizona.Support outreach activities that increase awareness of substance use prevention, overdose prevention, opioid overdose risks, and opioid overdose reversal medications, including naloxone education.Assist with planning, coordinating, and facilitating community outreach events, prevention activities, educational presentations, parent sessions, trainings, meetings, coalition activities, and other program events.Collect required program data and performance measures related to prevention programming.Represent Arizona Youth Partnership at community events, school events, coalition meetings, and other public activities as directed.Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable requirements related to ethics, mandated reporting, participant safety, and professional conduct.Participate in other duties and activities as assigned by the supervisor.Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting of actions and outcomes for all funding streams.Represent AZYP at public events, as directed, to promote prevention efforts.Participate in trainings as required by funder or AZYPOther duties as assigned by supervisorQUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GEDExperience in community outreach, youth education, substance use prevention, public health, behavioral health, coalition development, and community engagement preferredInitiating and independent worker. Creative, flexible, collaborator, team-playerExcellent presentation, oral, written communication skills; knowledge of Word, Excel, Publisher, Power Point a plusREQUIREMENTSFinger printing and Background Check; CPR/First Aid Certification.AZ Driver’s License, reliable transportation, and ability to travel countywide and statewide.Automobile Insurance in the amount of $100,000/$300,000Some evening and weekend hours as needed
