About the Program
Dynamic Systems Technology, Inc. (DysTech) is seeking aqualified Prevention Coordinator (PC) to serve as a Substance Abuse Preventionand Suicide Prevention Trainer and Case Manager supporting the Maine ArmyNational Guard. The program provides critical risk mitigation,substance abuse prevention education, suicide prevention training, andresiliency operations that help Soldiers navigate military life, strengthenreadiness, and access vital community resources.
The Maine team directly supports multiple keyfunctional areas, including:
- SubstanceAbuse Prevention (SAP) Program & Training
- SuicidePrevention Program (SPP) & Bystander Training
- UnitRisk Inventory (URI) Coordination & Risk Mitigation Planning
- Non-ClinicalCase Management
About the Role
As the Prevention Coordinator, you will serve as a keytrainer and non-clinical case manager working directly under the supervision ofthe Risk Reduction Coordinator (RRC). In this capacity, you will assist inexecuting core program goals, delivering high-impact prevention training,administering risk inventories, tracking cases, and maintaining accuratemilitary database records.
This is a hands-on technical and operational position thatcombines public speaking and instruction with non-clinical case management,administrative coordination, and community outreach. You will work closely withUnit Commanders, State Points of Contact, and community providers toensure timely case tracking, risk mitigation support, and responsive care forNational Guard members.
Key Responsibilities
Tasks include but are not limited to:
- Training& Instruction: Coordinate and deliver Substance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, and Bystander training for ARNG unitsand leaders, meeting or exceeding Army regulatory standards. Assist theRRC with training logistics and briefings as needed.
- RiskAssessment Facilitation: Coordinate, facilitate, quality-check, andprocess Unit Risk Inventory assessments. Contact Unit Commanders toreport outcomes and assist in executing recommended Risk Mitigation Plan training.
- Non-ClinicalCase Management: Manage referred Soldier cases from initial referralthrough final disposition stats. Coordinate with Unit Commanders, scheduleassessments and follow-on treatment, track progress, conduct weeklycheck-ins with Soldiers, retrieve paperwork, and document allcommunications.
- DatabaseManagement & Timely Reporting: Input all prevention training, casemanagement records, and suicide reporting events into applicabledatabases, ensuring all required documentation, incident updates, andreports are actioned strictly within specified timelines.
- StakeholderCommunication & Councils: Build and maintain positive workingrelationships with State POCs and community-based service providers. Serveas an active member of the Commander’s Readiness and Resiliency Council and the Adjutant General’s Alcohol and Drug Intervention Council.
- ProgramSupport & Reporting: Keep the State Resource Catalog current.Provide required weekly and monthly operational reports to the RRC, assistthe RRC with Monthly Status reports, and attend Interim Progress Reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Education:Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, Sociology,Behavioral Science, Public Health, Human Services, or a related socialscience field.
- Domain& Case Management Experience: 3+ years of practical experience inSubstance Abuse Prevention, Suicide Prevention, Resiliency programs, ornon-clinical case management.
- PublicSpeaking & Instruction: Strong professional instruction, briefing,and public speaking skills with the ability to adapt presentations fordiverse military audiences.
- TechnicalSkills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,PowerPoint) and experience maintaining precise documentation in trackingsystems/databases.
- Licensing& Mobility: Valid, unrestricted driver’s license with willingnessto travel in-state as required by program duties.
- Clearance& Access:Must be able to obtain favorable findings from NACI background investigation upon hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Priorexperience working with military populations or familiarity with ArmyNational Guard structure and protocols.
- Directexperience conducting training on substance abuse, suicide prevention, orresiliency.
- Experienceusing military databases (e.g., DAMIS, CIMS) and managing non-clinicalcase records.
Work Location and Schedule
- Location:Onsite assignment within the Maine Army National Guard in Augusta, ME
- Schedule:Primary operating hours are Monday through Friday, 07:30am-4:00pm
- Weekends: Must maintainflexibility to support variable unit schedules, including drill weekendsupport (typically one weekend per month on average).
- Travel:In-state travel is required, typically 2-4 occurrences per month
Compensation:
- $24.00-$25.00 hourly rate
