Job summary

The Air Force Civilian Service at Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana, is seeking a Prevention Coordination Specialist (NH-0101-03) to develop and deliver integrated prevention and resilience programs for service members and families.

This full-time role permits up to 20% telework and requires U.S. citizenship, the ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance, and a degree in behavioral or social sciences (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Base Salary Range: $89,508 to $138,370

up to 20% telework possible

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for; you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period OR 2-year trial period. Upon completion of your probationary/trial period, your employment will be terminated unless you receive certification, in writing, that your continued employment advances the public interest.

Qualifications/Requirements

The Prevention Coordination Specialist at Malmstrom AFB develops and delivers integrated prevention and resilience programs, activities and resources specifically tailored to address personal readiness, local/unique and risk protective factors of the population served. This position is responsible for development and delivery of comprehensive, coordinated prevention and resilience activities (i.e., training) and outreach (i.e., strategic messaging and marketing) to deliver optimal support to the installation’s Total Force and families. Collaborated and integrates primary prevention efforts in areas such as sexual assault, domestic abuse (including intimate partner violence and child abuse and neglect), workplace violence (including harassment, bullying and hazing), suicide, and alcohol abuse,/miscues prevention.

U.S. Citizenships Required.

Must obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance.

Degree: At least a bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science; or related disciplines appropriate to the position.

OR

Combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

OR

Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.

Must be able to obtain and maintain the required credentials for the position.

Knowledge And Experience Within Primary Prevention Is Highly Desired.

• Master Resiliency Trainer, DoD SPA RX Prevention Training.
• Comprehensive and professional knowledge of laws, regulations, and policies as well as behavioral, social science and/or public health practices principles and theories relating to prevention and resilience.
• Thorough knowledge of a wide range of delivery systems relating to prevention and resilience and the multiple uses of such systems.
• In-depth knowledge of DAF culture, military family dynamics, related professional fields, and a thorough knowledge of the DAF community and the unique challenges that DAF families face; or equivalent knowledge.
• Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects.
• Ability to effectively lead and chair committees, working groups, and teams.
