U.S. Army 1st Medical Recruiting Battalion seeks a Preventive Medicine Physician to plan and direct programs that maintain health, improve fitness, and prevent disease among Soldiers.

You will lead preventive medicine initiatives and support humanitarian missions while gaining opportunities across leadership training and a competitive benefit package. Requirements include an MD or DO from an accredited US school, US licensure, board eligibility, and completion of preventive medicine training or

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited US medical school or osteopathy college.
• Current US license to practice medicine, or DC/PR if applicable, with eligibility for board certification.
• Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship.
• Completion of a preventive medicine residency or ABPM/ABOPM certification in preventive medicine/public health.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and direct a program to maintain health and prevent disease and injury for soldiers.
• Lead preventive medicine initiatives and contribute to humanitarian missions and leadership training.

Education

As a Preventive Medicine Physician on the U.S. Army health care team, you'll plan, coordinate and direct a program to maintain health, improve physical fitness and prevent disease and injury. Requirements:

• Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
• Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
• Eligibility for board certification
• Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
• Completion of a training program in preventive medicine
• Completion of an ACGME approved residency program in preventive medicine OR certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine or the American Board of Osteopathic Prevention Medicine in general preventive medicine or public health
• Between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers granted on a case-by-case basis)
• U.S. citizenship
