Job summary

The U.S. Army health care team seeks a Preventive Medicine Physician to plan, coordinate and direct a program focused on maintaining health, improving fitness and preventing disease and injury for Soldiers.

Qualifications

• MD or DO degree from an accredited US school
• Current medical license in the US, DC, or PR
• Eligibility for board certification in preventive medicine
• Completion of GME internship and preventive medicine training
• ABPM/ABP certification in preventive medicine or public health preferred
• U.S. citizenship, ages 21–42 with waivers possible

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and direct a preventive medicine program for Soldier health and injury prevention.
• Support humanitarian missions, leadership training and strategic health initiatives.
• Collaborate with medical professionals to advance preventive medicine at the unit level.

Requirements:

• Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
• Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
• Eligibility for board certification
• Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
• Completion of a training program in preventive medicine
• Completion of an ACGME approved residency program in preventive medicine OR certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine or the American Board of Osteopathic Prevention Medicine in general preventive medicine or public health
• Between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers granted on a case-by-case basis)
• U.S. citizenship
