Job summary

The U.S. Army 1st Medical Recruiting Battalion is seeking a Preventive Medicine Physician to plan, coordinate and direct a comprehensive program to maintain health, improve physical fitness and prevent disease and injury among Soldiers.

You will join the Army Medical Corps, gain access to opportunities such as humanitarian missions, leadership training and a competitive benefits package while serving your country and expanding preventive medicine capabilities.

Qualifications

• Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
• Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
• Eligibility for board certification
• Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
• Completion of a training program in preventive medicine
• Completion of an ACGME approved residency program in preventive medicine OR certification by the American Board of Preventive Medicine or the American Board of Osteopathic Prevention Medicine in general preventive medicine or public health
• Between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers granted on a case-by-case basis)
• U.S. citizenship

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate and direct a program to maintain health, improve physical fitness and prevent disease and injury
• Support humanitarian missions and public health initiatives as part of the Army Medical Corps
• Lead with a focus on preventive medicine best practices and leadership development

Education

MD/DO degree

Current license to practice medicine in the US/ DC/ PR

Board certification eligibility

1-year internship (GME)

Preventive medicine training

ACGME residency or ABPM/ABOEM certification in preventive medicine

US citizenship
