Washington University in St. Louis is seeking a skilled maintenance technician to support enterprise HVAC and building systems. You will inspect equipment, perform scheduled servicing, and assist with repairs across campus facilities.

Performs skilled preventative maintenance on mechanical and building systems to support reliable facility operations. Conducts routine inspections, identifies developing issues, and completes scheduled servicing on HVAC and mechanical equipment while assisting with minor corrective repairs. Provides emergency response for maintenance issues to building systems on campus occurring during the shift and repairs within their capability. Strong attention to detail, independence in completing assigned tasks, and consistent adherence to safety and maintenance standards are essential for success in this position.
Job Location/Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Exposure to chemicals. High noise environment. Requires protective devices. Dust, dirt, grease, or other disagreeable elements. Exposure to moving machinery. Exposure to animals (trips to DCM). Patient care setting. Works inside and outside, in dusty and dirty places such as pits and equipment spaces where temperatures may exceed 100 degrees, and equipment may be oily and greasy. Employee may be required to work in the vicinity of labs containing biohazardous radioactive substances. Exposed to wet and cold conditions, as well as noise and vibration from operating equipment. Must be able to work in morgues, gross anatomy and pathology laboratories.

$19.29 - $29.91 / Hourly The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
